MATHEMATICSI picked this particular piece of work in question because it is one of the few remnants of Mr. Zielen's work that I have and like. Despite his curriculum circling around mostly online work, I am a fan of the physical pieces. In this assignment, we worked with slope, the equation being "y = mx + b." Other forms of linear equations were point-slope form, standard form, and slope intercept form. This was practice test for an approaching test at the time. Knowing how I fall short in math, these really helped me out and gave me a better insight on the work at hand.
SCIENCE/ENGINEERINGFor the Science portion of my coursework, I picked the Bio-Engineering Presentation I did for my senior Engineering 2 class. We were given the tasked to pick and present on a favored occupation in the field of engineering. I chose this because Bio-engineering reminds of things such as The Terminator and Robocop, due to having to take a part of one's body and upgrade with say metal, plastic, etc. It appeals to me with all the possibilities in this profession.
ENGLISHFor English, I picked my argumentative essay. This essay circled around who in my own personal opinio would be capable of defeating the fictional Marvel character, Thanos. I picked this because I liked the opportunity to go so in depth into a project, especially a project that got to circle around something of that nature. I am a big fan when it comes to fiction, such as Marvel, DC, anime, and things alike. So, I took this subject seriously and found sources to give me the proper backing on each characters' capability.
HISTORYFor the History portion of my coursework, I picked the 9/11 Eleven Interview I did with my mom in my junior year. I picked this specifically because I really liked looking at the tragedy from my own mother's perspective. Seeing and hearing her thoughts and how she felt on the treacherous day gave me even more insight on not only what something like tht can do to a country, but what it can do to a person.
FILMIn order to apply to the Film Program of Columbia University, i had to submit fifteen minutes of a screenplay/script to the program in order to be considered for my acceptance. I picked this piece of work because it really means a lot to me. Like I said, it's only fifteen minutes, but the script details some troublesome times I had to face at school and my overall upbringing. It's very touching to those that I have shown and I think that it exemplifies more than enough creativity and efficiency I have for my desired profession.
